Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?
We are located in the Gordon Business Park at 6624 Gordon Rd (Wilmington, NC 28411) behind Gordon Station, and across the street from Eaton Elementary School approximately ½ mile West of Market Street.

What instruments / classes do you teach?
We teach all woodwind and brass, guitar (acoustic and electric), bass, world percussion, drum set, keyboard/synthesizer, piano, violin, viola, cello, bagpipes, voice, home recording, and music theory.

Do you have group classes?
We offer group classes in our Rock School Program, Group Guitar, Group Piano, and Pro -Tools.
All other lessons are one–on-one lessons.

How long are your lessons?
We offer 30 minute and 60 minute lessons weekly.  About 90% percent of our students take thirty minute lessons weekly.  Our more advanced students tend to take the 60 minute lessons.

What ages do you teach?
We teach from the ages of 4 years to adult.

Do I need an instrument to get started?
No, take a few lessons first to see how you like it. We have a few instruments that students can use while in the lessons with us. However, we can not lend these instruments out for home use, so eventually you will need to purchase your own instrument. If you already own a guitar or bass guitar, please bring it with you to each lesson. We have everything else that you’ll need, including amps, cables, tuners, and metronomes.

Do I need a drum set to get started?
No, take a few lessons first to see how you like it. If you are a new student with no previous experience we recommend purchasing a practice pad and some sticks.  They are essential to learning the drums and will cost you less than $50 compared to a drum set or even just a snare drum. There is no need to bring anything to your first lesson unless you want to bring your own sticks. We have all the drums, practice pads, ear protection and extra sticks in our studios.

What times are available for lessons?
We are open and teaching Monday - Saturday. Our instructor’s hours vary so ask us about availability. We can find a time and instructor for you whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening.  Our business office is open from 10am to 6pm Monday – Thursday.  We are also open from 10am to 4pm on Friday and 9am - 2pm Saturday. If you need a specific time please call and we will try to accommodate your request.
