CHARITY WHITTINGTON
Voice
Charity Whittington holds a degree in vocal performance from
UNC Wilmington where she graduated magna cum laude.
She is the recipient of the William F. Adcock, Jr. music
scholarship awarded for excellence in performance and
academics. Charity is
also the winner of the Richard R. Deas Concerto Competition, and
was a featured vocalist with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra.
She has enjoyed many partial in operas including Mozart’s
“The Magic Flute” and Puccini’s “La Boheme”.
Charity was also a featured vocalist for the “Cape fear
Jazz Orchestra”.
Charity has been teaching for ten years and her philosophy is
simple “teaching should be fun and accessible for everyone”.
She is adept at applying this philosophy to all genres of
music from rock to pop and everything in between.
Charity is currently a member of the North
Carolina Music Teachers Association, and is working on getting
her official
certification within the organization.
She also performs regularly with jazz combos and
events such as weddings.
