Faculty Biography


DONNA DUGAN
Voice, Piano

Donna Dugan is a graduate of the New England Conservatory with a
vocal performance degree and jazz studies from Berklee. 
She received humanities credits from Boston College and Harvard University
including teaching certificates from Meredith College
in music education and special education from UNCW.  She received her
 Masters in counselor education from NC State.

 

While in New York, Donna performed with the Bo Winkler Orchestra,
sang with a new composers concert series at Julliard,
 and recorded an original opera.  In Boston, she did commercial voice-overs
 at Studio B and performed classical music on WERS Radio.

 

When she moved to North Carolina, she was a cantor at the Sacred Heart
Cathedral and at St. Francis of Assisi in North Raleigh.  
Donna was a member of Cantate and performed at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC. 
She has also been a member of Voices Only and sang with the Casablanca Orchestra.

 

Donna has taught at the Cary School of Music and the North Raleigh Conservatory. 
She has had multiple students become finalists in the Miss Teen North Carolina Pageant. 
Last year, one of her students had a leading role in  Grey Gardens performed at Thalian Hall.

 

Currently, Donna is the accompanist at St. Therese Catholic Church in
Wrightsville Beach and is a member of the women’s sacred music ensemble Song of the Sea.
